Jamon writes in the third person instead of the first person because he does not like to refer to himself . The reason for this is that he would not be the person he is or would not have done the work that he has done without God’s intervention. Even though Jamon has done the work and endured many hardships in order to learn what God has wanted him to know, Jamon believes that the credit for his work belongs to God. It is God’s spirit who works through him, writes through him and inspires people through him therefore God should receive the credit for whatever he does.
Jamon’s Story
Jamon was born James Harmon in a small farming town in southwest Virginia named Pennington Gap. His grandfather had a one hundred acre farm just outside of Pennington Gap where he had a dairy, raised tobacco, hay and hogs. Jamon would often spend summer vacations from school helping around the farm. Jamon’s other grandfather was also a farmer and lived in Tazewell, Tennessee. He had about ninety acres and also raised cattle, hogs, tobacco and hay. Jamon really enjoyed spending time at his grandfathers’ farms but had no desire to become a farmer. Jamon grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and was very average in every way. There was not anything that stood out about him. In high school he liked mechanical things and studied to be an electrician. Shortly after high school he went into the Navy and became an internal communications electrician. He served on four battleships in the Mediterranean Sea and on the East Coast of the United States. After four years he was discharged with an honorable discharged.
After the Navy he did not know what he would like for a career so he tried retail management, real estate sales and barbering. During this time, he was still unhappy with his career but was willing to stay with it for a while to see how things would go.
He had grown up in a Christian church but did not have any desire to go into the ministry. He was just an average churchgoer who was looking for a good life. In the summer of 1972, he was told that he had a thyroid condition and that he would have to have his thyroid removed. He was concerned about the operation but had no other choices except to go through with it.
While watching a preacher on TV one evening he felt that God was urging him to give Him his life. Jamon told God that he could have his life and do whatever He wanted to do with it. Jamon was preparing for his operation without any further thought about his life or his commitment to God. On November 9, 1972, a few days before the operation, Jamon felt the urge to return home so he excused himself from work for a while and went home but not knowing why. When he got home he looked around to see if everything was all right. After seeing that everything was as it should be, he thought he should return to work but decided that before he left, he would ask God if there was any reason for him to be there, if not, then he would leave. Jamon sat down to wait for a minute to see if anything would happen. Slowly, a powerful presence began to fill the room. Even though Jamon did not understand what was happening, he sat very quietly and watched. The presence continued to grow in power until it was overwhelming the room with power.
Suddenly, an audible voice began to speak out of the presence. This was the voice of the Holy Spirit saying:
“I am telling you this because of your great faith in me. Do not worry about your operation, it will be successful and you will heal very quickly. You will go back into Real Estate soon. You will be very successful but ( This line will be revealed at a later date ) You will never fail again. Your life will be very calm. You will become very wise. You will have a long life and long marriage. You will never have to worry or be afraid again. You will have hardships and tragedies but as long as you have faith in me I will help you through them. If you want to do this say I want to.”
After Jamon answered “I want to”, the presence began to diminish and then left all together. Jamon returned to work a changed man. Jamon, his life, and the world have not been the same since that moment.
Soon Jamon started to see things change in his life just as the voice had told him they would. Jamon changed careers as he had been told to do. He began praying for people and handing out Christian materials. He studied the Bible to learn all that he could about God and Jesus. His knowledge increased more and more very year. God told him that he would have “hardships and tragedies” in his life and for over twenty-five years there was always some type of hardship or pain in his life. Now Jamon uses the knowledge he has gained to help people throughout the world with their problems or how to avoid problems. Jamon’s work has received recognition both locally and nationally in newspaper and magazine articles.
Wherever Jamon goes, God’s blessings and power goes with him. God has taken a plain and simple man and made him into one of the world’s most gifted people. Jamon gives all of the credit to God for his gifts and talents and uses those talents to bring glory to God. Jamon’s church history is in the United Methodist Church, Southern Baptist Church and the Church of God. Jamon's goal is to help people around the world to know about God’s power and how it can change their lives and the saving grace of His son Jesus. Jamon’s gifts and talents are as follows.

Jamon does not like to speak or write about his personal life or what he has gone through in order to become the person he is. In this way he can write in an objective way without putting himself as the focus of what it is he is writing about.
Jamon prefers to keep the attention on God or Jesus. Jamon is just a message carrier, he is not the message. The Holy Spirit inspires or directs most of Jamon’s writings and therefore lifts up Jesus as God’s son or God Himself. No one can write the way Jamon writes without the inspiration from the Holy Spirit. May you be inspired and blessed by Jamon’s writings.
