I WANT TO BE A RIVER
I want to be a river.
A river that bends throughout the land, and reaches to where ever I am needed.
A river that runs deep and clear with God’s power.
A river that is filled with life’s passion and washes over its banks into the tall green grass and over hanging willow branches.
I want to be strong enough to lift others up yet gentle enough to caress children’s feet.
I want God to guide and move me in a way that will bring blessings to those who need them most.
I want to wash up against the hardened stones of fear and hate until then are crushed into sand and disappear into the muddy silt below.
I want to wash up against injustice and move it and swallow it up with truth and justice.
I want to grow stronger as my life continues on its way so that others can depend upon me until they too become strong.
I want to be a river that does not end but wraps around the earth until God has used me to replenish men’s dehydrated souls so that they too will become rivers.
I want to be a river of love that God moves through to bind His children together and has no limits as it flows on and on all the way from the earth to the throne of God.
GOD’S POWER, MY WEAKNESS
God’s power flows through my body and spirit like nothing that I can easily explain.
I have often wondered why it was me that He has chosen to display His power.
There is only one reason that comes to mind and that is that I am such a weak person.
A strong or proud person would resist God because God requires a person to humble himself to his will and a strong person will not do that.
Only God can use someone who is weak in the flesh and spirit so that He may fill that person with Himself.
Only after a breaking process is completed can God truly use a weak and broken person because then that person knows how weak and broken they are and can never take pride in the power and blessings that flows through them.
The broken person must merely look on as God performs His miracles and wonders while giving God the praise and glory.
God would like to use many more people but pride has set itself into so many people’s hearts that God must pass them by as He looks for another weak soul.
A soul who is so weak that he cannot resist God’s urgings.
A soul so weak that he knows that to even try to resist would bring more emptiness and sorrow into their meaningless life.
Therefore, they give in to God’s will knowing full well that they will have to abandon their own dreams and desires of ambition and glory and be submissive to Gods’ will
God knows that this is not easy because man has learned to survive without Him and instead of having many souls willing to do His work, He must search throughout the earth seeking weakened individuals who are willing to give up even what little they have in order to follow His leading.
Only after the breaking and the filling of God’s power do they realize that God has restored not only everything that they had given up but restored it many times over.
Not only do they have more than before but they also have a life more abundant and joyous than they could ever have dreamed of on their own. All they have to do to have this life forever is to remain weak so that God’s power and love can continue flowing through them seeing to it that it is God who receives the praise and the glory that He so rightfully
GOD SAID
When I was young I said “God”
“I want to make a good living”
God said “I want to give you a life worth living”
I said “I want to be successful while I am young”
God said “I will give you patience and wisdom that comes with age”
I said “I want to have a home”
God said “I want you to help others to have a home”
I said “I want to be inspired”
God said “I want you to inspire others”
I said “I want to eat well”
God said “I want you to feed others”
I said “I want to have money”
God said “I want you to give money away”
I said, “God, I will need your help”
God said “I will give it”
THROUGH GOD’S EYES
Through God’s eyes everything looks different than it does to man.
Man sees the problems and the hurt.
God sees the solutions and the healing.
Man sees the way something can’t be done.
God sees the way it can be done.
Man shrinks in fear.
God’s faith causes growth.
Man cries out there is not enough.
God says there is more than enough.
Man says hold on to what you have
God says let go and reaps a larger share.
Man says give me more.
God says manage what you have been given first.
Man complains to God.
God says praise me and you will have no reason to complain.
Man says I cannot see.
God says open your heart and I will show you.
Man says God is not there.
God says I am hiding right in front of you.
It is not that all things are impossible it is just whose eyes you look through to see the possibilities.
From now on look through God’s eyes.
